biography

Formed in January 2000, No Point Intended emerged from The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation as a young band with a clear vision: write honest, original music shaped by the alternative rock that raised them. Within four months they recorded their first EP, "the 24 #@%'en hours EP" (2000) - assembled entirely by hand and given away freely to build an audience. Their first full-length album, "believe" (2001), showcased melodic guitars, heartfelt lyrics, and the energetic live show that earned them a spot on Star 94.7's "Amped Vol. 1" compilation (2002).

The original lineup featured vocalist/rhythm guitarist Adam Halstrom, drummer Quintin Bignell, lead guitarist Steve Longworth, bassist Ryan Proulx, and the late guitarist George Constant. Early songs explored relationships, humour, and the struggles of growing up in the north. This unfiltered honesty resonated with listeners across the province.

As life carried the members to different towns and careers across Manitoba, the band eventually fizzled in 2003. The guys stayed connected, though, collaborating on creative projects over the years while No Point Intended remained dormant.

In 2023, the sudden passing of guitarist George Constant brought the surviving members back into close contact. In honour of their friend, and driven by a renewed creative spark, No Point Intended began writing and recording together again - this time virtually, from different corners of the province.

After more than twenty years, No Point Intended returns with "Over the Moon" (2025), their first new song since the early 2000s. The track blends their melodic, guitar-driven roots with the perspective of a band that has lived, lost, and found its way back. The release is accompanied by a music video and a 12" vinyl single featuring an unreleased B-side.

No Point Intended is once again building momentum - proof that friendship, creativity, and the desire to tell your story don't fade with time.
