news archive feb 23, 2003 ack! took awhile to get to this! we played the 2003 trappers' festival stage show on feb 13th. we played "afloat" and "brainchild" to a packed gymnasium! i'll also mention that we had been rehearsing with drummer richie jaeger, so he performed with us at the trappers' show... lotsa fun, but rich has left to play with a band in the US... there's two photos of this show in the live phots gallery. nov 10, 2002 for anyone interested in the "recording" part of things, check out some documentation and photos from the recording of the "believe" album. this is part of adam's pollutionlake.com website (and also the pollution lake sound studio). nov 10, 2002 the oct 25 edition of otitastamakaw (the messenger) featured a review of "believe" by tyler head. check it out on the press page. also, check out tyler's fansite. oct 20, 2002 some news that may disappoint some of our millions of fans... the band is parting with our drummer, quintin. and just so everyone knows, it was a mutual departure... it's not like we had a big fight and we're not talking or anything! quintin has decided to move on to other projects (he's currently recording an album with heritage. he's also working on material for his own christian rock project, and is doing some session drumming in winnipeg). so what does this mean for npi? well, the band still consists of adam, george, steve, and we think ryan's still around here somewhere! we're writing new material without a drummer... we may be auditioning for a new drummer in the future, but for now we'll be enlisting temporary drummers if we plan to perform. also, quintin did express interest in playing the odd show with us if he was available. oct 20, 2002 order our cd's and t-shirts online!! i've gone through a couple transactions already, and it works really well... here's the address to view our online store directly: http://www.cdstreet.com/artists/nopointintended oct 20, 2002 tyler has created another npi adventure comic strip, titled "the return of zakk wylde". i had a good laugh reading it... he does a great job of stealing pics off of our website to fit the story. you'll see what i mean. oct 10, 2002 updated the message board, which is now hosted on pollutionlake.com. visit the new board here! oct 10, 2002 update on the new album coming soon... look for a newsletter in the next few days! july 12, 2002 yay!! our merchandise is available for sale online once again! click here to go to our store at cdstreet. cdstreet is an online retailer dedicated to selling indie music. today i decided i would make our old demo available. i'm charging $1 USD plus $3 USD shipping for these cd's... this is the cheapest i could make it on cdstreet... just over $5 candian to have the demo shipped to you. i had to charge something because it's getting expensive having to buy cd's and supplies everytime i made another copy of the demo... june 28, 2002 hmv is no longer taking cd's on consignment, so we have no system in place for ordering the cd online. check the store page for info on how to order the cd by mail. the band is in veg mode for the summer... we're all relaxing, working, vacationing, and just generally being lazy. we said more about what everyone was up to in the last newsletter. you may want to check out www.pollutionlake.com for some new/different music. april 24, 2002 info on ordering the "amped vol. 1" compilation is now on the store page. $12, cheap! (don't forget that most of the hmv's in winnipeg carry the cd as well). go to our store page for more info. some new pictures from the amped cd release party! check out the live pics page. thank you to brian and edward for getting a few good ones for us! april 9, 2002 on the 6th, we kicked off the release of "amped vol.1" with a cd release party at occ's in brandon! we had alot of fun, sharing the stage with bag of hammers and fetal pig! check out our music page for more info the disc. march 31, 2002 lyrics for the complete "believe" album are available on the music page!! occ's battle of the bands compilation will be released on april 6, 2002! the comp will be called "amped vol. 1" and will feature 3 tracks from npi: "afloat", "hide", and "better without me."
our second single "apologize" has reached the following radio stations: march 31, 2002 we've entered cbc's the great canadian music dream competition! we submitted "better without me" and "afloat." check out the website at http://www.cbc.ca/musicdream january 23, 2001 the next single is "apologize" and it's been released to the radio station in the pas. request it at 623-1240!! we'll be sending it out to more stations around manitoba in the next week. january 23, 2002 website update! added new pics to the live, casual, photo shoot, and fan art sections! january 23, 2002 mixing of our two new tracks is complete... artwork for the cd should be completed in the next week, leaving the compilation to be released in about a month from now. december 24, 2001 check out tylers new comic book-style adventure featuring no point intended! mr t. vs. the black label society at tyler's npi fansite. december 2, 2001 we recorded 2 new songs at platinum | gold studios in winnipeg. this was the studio time we won at the battle of the bands. these two songs as well as a song from our cd will be featured on occ's battle of the bands compilation cd, which should be available in january. nov 3, 2001 cd release show at good thymes (in the lounge). nov 02, 2001 cd release show at cap's bar (wescana inn). nov 01, 2001 cd release show at otineka mall. october 27, 2001 npi's debut album "believe" is released, and available to order from the website. ocbtober 25, 2001 last night, adam, george, and quintin backed catharina de beer at the mbci talent show. we performed catharina's song "forever love", which was co-written by adam and george. october 04, 2001 on sept 26, 2001 npi wins the battle of the bands at occ's in brandon! the top 3 bands were chosen for a cash prize and studio time in winnipeg. we'll have more details about our winnings as well as pictures from the show soon. september 18, 2001 new website is under construction. keep checking back for new stuff... we'll have an online store open soon! september 18, 2001 i approved the final artwork for the cd... printing of the booklets should be starting soon.
